Make a Toothbrush Bracelet

I really enjoy making crafts, especially when it involves recycling old things around the house to make new, innovative things... like turning trash into treasure. My friends and I first starting making toothbrush bracelets when we were about 12 years old, and it became a big fad at the time. I think it's something that will always stick with me, so I thought I would share it with you!
Materials:
- Plastic toothbrush, preferably the with a cute design. Note: This only works with the toothbrushes made of the flat clear plastic material rather than the fancier ones. The best kind to use is the thin kind made for small children because these bend more easily without breaking.
- Pot for boiling water, large enough to fit the toothbrush
- Tongs
- Pliers
- Paper towels
Instructions:
- Heat water over the stove and add the toothbrush when the water reaches boiling point. Leave it in the boiling water for a few minutes.
- Take the brush out of the water with tongs. Hold it close to the head of the brush with the tongs while pulling the bristles out with pliers. Holding it near the bristles is to prevent the toothbrush from bending while you pull them out.
- Put it back in the water to boil for a few more minutes.
- Wrap a thick layer of paper towls around your wrist.
- Get a friend to take the toothbrush out of the water with tongs and wrap it around your wrist over the paper towel (so that it doesn't burn you). NOTE: Make sure to leave enough room between the ends so that you can get it off!
- Let cool. Now you have your very own toothbrush bracelet!
